The 2011 Holiday Fest was held Saturday, December 3 from 4-6pm in Pine Street Plaza. Well over 200 people joined us downtown for a celebration of the holiday season. 25 families registered for the Kid’s Jingle Bell Fun Run at 4pm sponsored by WSU YMCA. Download the Jingle Bell Fun Run brochure.  Butch T. Cougar lit the tree at 4:30 pm. Performances from local choirs and bands, free cocoa and cookies, and at 5pm Santa himself arrived to hear the kids’ wishes! The evening finished off at 6pm with a Marshmallow Roast at Paradise Creek Brewery and a special performance of Pinnochio at RTOP Theater at 6:30pm.

At 5:30 the winner of the Home for the Holidays Prize Pack, valued at over $500, was drawn. Albert Chang won and selected a natural boulder opal from Sam Dial Jewelers, valued at $350.00. He gave this to his girlfriend, Yi-Shan Chen. The Prize Pack also included a family season pass to Palouse Discovery Science Center, 4 movie passes to Village Centre Cinemas and a suite of his choice from Holiday Inn Express.
